1. Product Positioning
SCM12 Series Intelligent Solar Charge Controllers are applicable to 12V/24V/48V RV systems and off-grid photovoltaic energy storage scenarios. They charge various storage batteries through solar panels and supply power to DC loads, managing the complete off-grid power system including solar modules, batteries and electrical loads.
2. Core Charging Functions
Equipped with high-performance MPPT (Maximum Power Point Tracking) technology, the unit captures the peak power of solar modules in real time and delivers higher solar energy utilization efficiency than traditional charging solutions. It supports boost charging, so it can normally replenish power even if the output voltage of solar panels is lower than the battery voltage.
The device automatically identifies the system voltage and runs a three-stage intelligent charging program (constant current, constant voltage and float charging), compatible with lead-acid, gel, lithium iron phosphate and other types of storage batteries.
It comes with built-in pulse desulfation and battery temperature compensation functions. An optional lithium battery wake-up activation function is available to extend the service life of batteries.
3. Control & Communication Configuration
Fitted with an onboard LCD display and function buttons, the controller displays real-time data such as solar power, charge/discharge current and cumulative power production. It supports on-site adjustment of parameters including charge and discharge protection voltages, as well as one-click factory reset.
A reserved RS485 communication port allows remote monitoring and modification of equipment operating parameters by connecting to a computer.
It has an independent DC load output channel with multiple automatic load control modes. The load will be disconnected automatically when the battery voltage drops to a low threshold to prevent battery over-discharge.
4. Chassis Structure & Protection
The whole machine features an all-aluminum alloy housing with passive self-cooling design, achieving IP42 dustproof and waterproof performance.
Separate dedicated wiring terminals are provided for solar panels, storage batteries, DC loads and communication lines.
A complete set of built-in safety protection mechanisms covers solar/battery overvoltage, undervoltage, positive/negative reverse polarity, unit overheating, load overload and battery over-discharge protection. In case of faults, the charge and discharge circuits will be cut off automatically, and the fault indicator light facilitates quick troubleshooting.
